About Us
We are Max and Marianne, the creators of DIRT Sedona. Max is a Sedona native, born and raised here in Sedona. I (Marianne) am originally from Georgia, where I grew up on a small family farm with lots of space to roam. We meet in Denver, CO where we were both lived and worked for about 10 years. Max as a sommelier and me as a photographer. Both dreamed of moving out of the city and being closer to nature and trails out the backdoor. We currently live at DIRT, as well as share and rent the space along with our desert experiences.
The Desert Move
Once we decided it was time to go, we sold most all our belongings, minus Max’s beloved hand chair, packed up the truck, the dogs and headed south to Sedona. We drove into the night, through one of the worst snowstorms northern Arizona had seen in the past 100 years. So much for a warm desert welcoming! With no real plans, we came across this small desert cabin. A quiet space at the end of the road, and well…SOLD. Since then we have been renovating and redesigning our own little desert dwelling. DIRT backs up to Coconino national forest, with a link of primitive trails to many of the great trail systems Sedona has to offer. We are so lucky to call DIRT our home.
